Yesterday was a big day in terms of achievements. Alongside two of my best friends I climbed Mount Snowdon in Wales, which also happens to be the highest mountain in Wales standing 1085m above sea level. The walk, or should I say hike, was in aid of Checkemlads, a testicular cancer support charity which offers support to men during cancer treatment and after being cleared of cancer. The walk was also in memory of all of those people who have not beaten cancer and have sadly passed away.
I managed to raise my target of £100 and Marc raised an outstanding £230, which we are really proud of. I'd also like to say thank you to everyone who donated money, your kindness won't be forgotten. The walk itself was hard going considering our fitness levels but it was definitely worth it. The legs are a little achey today, Marc's bad knee has swollen and Lisa is slowly recovering from panic attack overload after tackling her fear of heights but we all made it and can be very proud of ourselves.
Tomorrow my Dad is going to be having a major operation to remove his prostate as earlier this year cancerous cells were found in there. The op will not only get rid of the cancer but prevent it from spreading. Good luck Dad, you'll rock that operation!! <3
So it's a big week for cancer... but in a positive way as we are fighting it, not bowing down to it.
