Budapest Travel Diary [Day 3]

Once again, on day 3 of our little whistle stop tour of Budapest I woke up with mammoth suitcases under my eyes. Please refer to last post about under eye roll on and what not! The Hungarian fam had taken the day off work to show us around personally which was so nice of them. Due to the weather being a bit grizzly and misty, they took us for a drive out of the city to a castle called Visegrad which is located on a big bend in the Danube river. The castle was lovely and had it not been for the mist which was hanging about that morning, the views from the top of the castle would've been spectacular. It's definitely worth a visit, however if you haven't got a car or someone to take you there then it's a bit difficult to get to.

As you can see, it was a TAD misty.

Later we drove back to Budapest and had a quick car tour of the area including Chain Bridge and the Parliament building. I don't know what it was about the Parliament building but I was really taken with it! At night it's lit up beautifully too!

Chain Bridge
Parliament, by far my favourite building in Budapest
Doesn't really do the Parliament building justice, but this is it lit up at night. This was the view from our hotel room!

  2. I've seen so many photos of Budapest recently and heard so many good things that it's definitely on my list of places to visit. Their Parliament is much more beautiful and elegant than ours, that's for certain! xx
