A few weeks ago I was contacted regarding a potential review for WEN haircare. Being a novice when it comes to beauty products I hadn't heard of the brand before and was keen to try them out, particularly as I'd been testing a few conditioning treatments recently after having my hair coloured/subjecting the old follicles to UV damage during my holidays.
I started using the conditioner on Sunday evening and I have to say, so far so good. The smell of it is delicious - you can really smell the mint - and when you put it in your hair, you can feel that it's going to do some good (especially when you leave it in for a solid 4 minutes). It's quite thick, unlike some standard 'supermarket' conditioner brands that can often be quite watery, and I was really pleased that once I'd rinsed it out and put a brush through my hair there were hardly any knots (this is a big deal for me because my hair is knot city practically ALL of the time, even since it's been short).
Packaging-wise I quite like the earthy look and feel to the packaging, it makes me think it's quite natural and therefore will be good for my hair. It's also quite a large bottle with 480ml of minty almondy goodness inside so I'm sure it will last a while, especially as I only use a teaspoon-ful per use (if that). Application-wise I tend to apply it from the middle of my hair towards the ends. I can't be dealing with putting conditioner on my roots (even if it says to on the packaging) because it makes my hair go greasy really quickly. Me no like greasy chip pan hair.
To conclude, I guess time will tell on how well this product stands against heat damage, split ends, etc but for now, I'm really happy with the results and I have some super smooth hair goin' onnnnn! Have you used the Wen Cleansing Conditioner* before? Whaddya think?
